Google Chrome's Data Saver Feature Now Available for Desktop Users

Google has launched a new Chrome browser extension called Data Saver, which can be used  to save bandwidth and time when loading Web pages. The service has till now been  primarily targeted at mobile users, since they suffer from limited connectivity and try to  save  expensive data. However, with the launch of this extension, Google has made the  service available to PC users of the Chrome browser as well. The Data Saver extension, currently in beta, can be downloaded from the  Chrome Web  Store . Google has been quiet about this launch, refraining from making any announcements  on the same. The extension was released on the Chrome Web Store on March 23. The extension will only work on Chrome 41 and above, and should turn on by default  immediately after installation. Android Wear Smartwatch Can Now Find Your Phone via Voice Command

Google on Thursday started rolling out an update to Android Device Manager that helps   users find their lost device via an Android Wear device. The Android Device Manager introduced in 2013 essentially allowed locating, resetting and  deleting data for Android devices from Web. With the update, Google says that the 'Find my  phone' support has now been added for the Android Wear devices. The feature works can either work with voice command "Ok Google. Start. Find my phone"  or by selecting the 'Find my phone' option from the start menu. If your device is mapped  with Android Device Manager, it will start ringing at full volume till the time your Android  Wear device/ smartwatch is in range (Bluetooth range). Google didn't mention any time-frame for the update, but said that users won't need to do  anything to enable this new feature; it will roll out to all Android Wear devices over the next  few weeks. If you thought that your new 802.11ac router’s max speed of 1,300Mbps was pretty crazy, think again: With 802.11ac fully certified and out the door, the Wi-Fi Alliance has started looking at its successor, 802.11ax — and boy do the early draft specs and transfer speeds look good.
